I am currently based in the states but I grew up across the Barracks from Signals to Arakan and yes attended a school near Corona founded in 89 in child avenue. The place is becoming a wreck but for relieving historical memory sake, it'll be good to reminisce with through your memories. I am a reluctant student of military history(in traumaville) but my dream is to interview the Civil War commanders if I could before dementia catches up with them if only one could have the privilege to do so(perhaps I should start with a London visit?). Thank you sir for giving us the rare women perspective of what it feels like to go through the barracks horror helplesslyAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14856475143364505911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8021716376952212791.post-6940059333821277692021-10-19T12:05:24.973+01:002021-10-19T12:05:24.973+01:00Truly strong woman and this was so interesting to ...Truly strong woman and this was so interesting to read. I also lost my mom 2 yrs ago and we also experienced coup 2 times because my dad was in the SSS. Thank for this history. One connection between African military history and Trinidad was the Commonwealth Military Tribunal set up in 1971 in Trinidad to try the alleged perpetrators of an attempted coup against Dr. Eric Williams. The Chairman of the tribunal was (then) Colonel Theophilus Danjuma of Nigeria, who I mentioned in my piece and who later became the Chief of Army Staff. Another member of the tribunal was Lt. Colonel (later General) Ignatius Acheampong of Ghana who overthrew his own prime minister, Kofi Busia, the following year. Joseph's brothers sold him for trying to be outstanding. I just wish that rather than pull him down, Nigerians step up to industriousness and ingenuity because these are human not Igbo qualities. Why should the Igbos make you feel they are specially gifted from GOD to strive while you sit on the sidelines "hating", rise and let's build Nigeria together with love for each other.
