doctoral candidate at the University of Florida who is researching into Nigerian
boxing from 1920 to 1970. One of the courses which he teaches is the history of
African sport and my book, Dick Tiger:
The Life and Times of a Boxing Immortal is essential reading because of its
social, political and historical contexts.
